Washable Polar Fleece Blankets

Polar fleece is inherently easy-care: it absorbs little moisture, dries quickly and holds its shape through repeated laundering. Our washable range is finished with that cycle in mind — for buyers whose blankets get washed weekly, not seasonally.

The Requirement

Built for the laundry cycle

A household blanket might be washed a handful of times a season. A hotel or hostel blanket can go through the wash every few days. The fabric requirement is not the same, and buying the household product for the institutional job is how contracts go wrong in year two.

What matters across repeated laundering is that the pile does not mat down into a flat, hard surface, that the blanket comes back to size, and that a printed design does not lose its depth. Those are finishing decisions taken during production, not something that can be corrected later.

Performance Characteristics

Why fleece handles washing well

Quick drying

Low moisture absorption means shorter drying times and faster room turnaround.

Dimensional stability

Constructions selected to return to size rather than shrink through the cycle.

Machine washable

Suited to standard institutional laundry processes.

Retained hand feel

Finishing chosen so the brushed surface stays soft over repeated washes.

Colour retention

Print and shade depth maintained through the laundering cycle.

Any weight

Available across the range, from lightweight Snow Fleece to 1,000 GSM.

Care Guidance

Recommended handling

General guidance for polar fleece. Specific care instructions are confirmed per order, since they depend on the construction and finish supplied.

StepRecommendation
WashingMachine wash cold to warm on a gentle cycle. Avoid overloading the drum.
DetergentMild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener — softener coats the pile and reduces loft.
DryingTumble dry low or line dry. High heat is the most common cause of pile damage.
IroningNot recommended. Direct heat flattens the brushed surface permanently.
StorageStore dry and loosely folded. Prolonged compression sets creases into the pile.

Finished blanket weight and usable dimensions can vary according to finished size, construction, processing, finishing and agreed production tolerances.
